Cheap Vegas Hotels & Best Websites for Deals

Cheap Vegas Hotels & Best Websites for Deals: on this page we’ll talk about very affordable Vegas resorts off Strip and which websites you can go to to find great deals for all star ratings hotels in Vegas including the top resorts on the Strip (scrolls down), in this order. For a list of affordable Strip resorts, go to Part 1

Off-Strip Cheap Vegas Hotels yet Good (with a free shuttle to the Strip)

Off Strip we often opt for the Gold Coast and the Orleans; we particularly like the Gold Coast location because it’s across from the Palms buffet (one of the the best super affordable buffets in Vegas) and the Rio; it’s a do-able walking distance to the Strip for those who are very fit, but the resort offers a free shuttle to Linq (just at the bottom of the wheel); moreover, it has a very low resort fee, which pleasantly includes good Internet for up to 3 devices!  Cheap Vegas HotelsTheir rooms are good enough are are constantly being remodeled; their bathrooms a modern albeit a bit small (well, some of them at least), their mattresses and pillows are all good quality, they all have flat screen TVs (and better channels than several other Strip resorts!) and, they offer a good enough gym (open until 10pm, which is really nice) and a cosy pool area which includes a nice Jacuzzi tub open until 10pm. It actually also has a good casino, very popular with locals. Their buffet is one of the cheapest in town but it really is basic in every aspect (better walk to Palms for the buffet). Gold Coast is a small resort so it’ll never be packed and crowded like most other Vegas resorts. It’s always a good deal, if you don’t mind being slightly off-Strip (but well connected to mid Strip thanks to a free, regular shuttle service). If you want to go to other areas of the Strip, the Rio across the Strip also runs free shuttle services: all you need to show is your Caesar’s Entertainment Group players card, which you can sign up for the moment you arrive at any of their resorts, such as Rio, Paris Vegas, Planet Hollywood, Harrah’s, Flamingo, Caesar’s, Cromwell, Linq. You can view our video of the Gold Coast rooms on our Gold Coast page; there, you can also read about the similarly good quality Orleans resort.

Downtown. This is where you will generally find the best deals all the time, and great option for those on a budget and those who want to experience a bit of older Vegas or ‘miniature Vegas’ atmosphere!  There are many cheap Vegas hotels in this area though not all of them excellent. We have written more on downtown options on Las Vegas Downtown Hotels.

If you know where to find excellent Las Vegas hotel deals (see below about this) the best options will be Mirage (fantastic rates, usually around 30 dollars for a fabulous resort in every aspect), MGM, Rio, Venetian (but no buffet and a ridiculously expensive spa/gym, which however closes late!), Mandalay Bay/the Hotel, and the Aria. Treasure Island’s rooms are far too small even if you can find a good deal on them. We never found a great deal on the Paris so we’ve skipped it, though it is a nice resort.

Off-Strip Cheap Vegas Hotels but close to the Strip without a shuttle service

On expensive weekends even a great affordable option like Gold Coast (or The Orleans) may charge too much (more than 100 dollars per night) if you are on a budget. In this case, opting for alternative choices is the only way; we found ourselves forced to do this a few times, during peak events in Vegas, when even a room at Circus Circus was 150 dollars per night: we just would not spend that much for a hotel which is not truly 5 star, so (because we like to save money as much as possible) we opted for alternatives. Among decent places you can stay for around 50 dollars per night when the Strip hotels charge between 120 to 500 dollars per night (on peak events or peak weekends) are Tuscany Suites (old-fashioned large suites, a pool and a basic gym, a couple of restaurants in-site and a nice entrance – walking distance to the Bally’s, which is mid-Strip) and Ramada on Flamingo Road very basic but even cheaper, acceptably although by far not perfectly clean, a good 24-hour gym and a decent pool with a nice central waterfall, a basic free breakfast and a one-way free shuttle on demand for 3 set destinations on the Strip – location: near Tuscany Suites).  In the same area you will also find Silverseven, with rooms costing around 20 dollars midweek (low traffic time), though their resort fee will double that; Silverseven offers free shuttles to and from the airport, which a nice add-on, though not late at night.  If you use some of the websites indicated below in order to find cheap Vegas hotels, you will see many more options and, for those who just want a decent place to sleep, they will be fine.

If you are thinking of staying in the center of the action and stay at either Planet Hollywood, Paris Vegas or Bally’s Vegas, go to this page for details and advice.

The best places online to find great Las Vegas hotel deals on all of the Las Vegas hotels are:

♥ Smartervegas (com); their coupon deals are good

♥ i4vegas.com

♥ vegashotelhunt.com/las-vegas-hotel-deals (it’s a relatively new site, none of the deals seem to be unique in that it seems that you find them through the resorts’ rewards programs yourself; however, they are nicely laid out and ideal for those who want a quick  set of rates to choose from)

♥ orbitz (I enjoy their new reward system which means you can at times book a decent Vegas hotel for free – ask us if you need clarification).

♥ vegasview.com (some decent coupons here too)

♥ vegas.com (of course!); they are now offering some great rates, occasionally beating everyone else.  Beware of any ‘food & drinks credit’ because some resorts are very limiting with this offer, such as limiting where you can enjoy the offer or – even worse – making you buy something to make use of the ‘free’ offer.  It’s much better if any offer reads as ‘resort credit’ rather than ‘$20 dollars off food and drinks or $20 dollars food & drinks credits’.  We talk about this when we discuss Excalibur, but they are not the only ones doing this.

♥ travelzoo.com (they sometimes offer excellent discount offers for everything to do with Vegas)

♥♥ I also like hotelscombined.com for hotel deals, including Las Vegas, since it provides very quick and efficient list of online deals you can choose from, very much in the style of what the great skyscanner.com website does for flights.

Another good site for Vegas hotel deals is Fatwallet. Google search it (Fatwallet Vegas hotel deals) and make sure you are on the most recent thread. Admittedly, lately it’s been less and less ‘populated’ with great deals, but it’s always worth a check just in case.

Then, the only other way to truly get fabulous deals is by signing up, even before you arrive, to all the offers from each resort (basically signing up for a players card, which you can do face to face or even remotely – if you do it face to face you may receive Freeplay). We receive all the very best Las Vegas hotel deals through our Players Cards (we have one from each resort or resort chain). We are not huge gamblers (only occasionally, playing the slot machines) and we still receive fantastic deals.
