Thanksgiving in Vegas & other celebrations

Thanksgiving in Vegas is ideal if you want to celebrate (or not) festivities in an alternative way;

we focus on Thanksgiving on this page but, just to give you a strong example of what this city can offer you, Christmas & New Year in Vegas, are perfect for those who feel a bit ‘left out’ back home (for whatever reason):   in this city, especially in the ‘tourist’ areas, you are never alone; you are surrounded by like-minded people seeking a good time or just seeking to be pampered.  thanksgiving in vegas Let’s take Thanksgiving as example, bearing in mind that this applies to all major national celebrations:  on the very T-day you will meet a large number of groups, couples and (more than usual) families, also due to a larger-than-usual local influx.  Outside of Thanksgiving Day, you will find it enjoyable, not terribly busy, with some good hotel prices and some attractions offers. Poker tournaments and turkey day games aren’t overly crowded, and neither are buffets and restaurants.

However:  on major celebrations days you will be finding challenging long line ups at all buffets as many locals take flock there for this once-a-year occasion; even with the higher-ranking players cards, which would usually allow you to enter with no wait at all,, you may have to line up for 30 minutes. Generally, you may have to wait up to 3 hours at many of the best Vegas buffets, especially the really ‘famous ones’ or those from popular resorts.

Thanksgiving in Vegas:  Dining.  Most restaurants and buffets will offer a special ‘Thanksgiving’ lunch, brunch or dinner, (if it’s St Patrick’s day, for example, it’ll be St Patrick’s lunch, brunch or dinner) for a spiked up price which usually includes complimentary sparkling wine (let’s not even pretend to call it champagne) and all the traditional Thanksgiving dishes you would expect.

Most restaurants will also offer a special, fixed price menu (together with their ‘traditional menu’) and will require reservations but, once you have it, you will of course avoid line ups.  Some of the best Vegas restaurants (many of them expensive) will require reservations well in advice.

The often-regarded (with good reason) best buffet in Vegas, Studio B, offers an affordable ‘Thanksgiving Family Feast To Go‘ ($199 for 10 people), which you must order over the phone and pick up (at a different place from the usual buffet entrance); this applies to other major celebrations. If you decide to rent a car in Vegas and stay in a suite (as a group, for example), it may well be an alternative, especially if you loath long line ups (queues).  Studio B is one of the best buffets in Vegas offering special celebrations’ buffets (at reasonable prices compared to the Strip) and for that it attracts a large number of locals.

Best Restaurants for Thanksgiving in Vegas: as already mentioned, all the top Vegas Restaurants will all offer a great Thanksgiving experience. Among the most recommended for this very special occasion are Bazaar Meat (SLS) and DB Brasserie at Venetian. Always book in advance.

Vegas Shows during Thanksgiving & Other Major Celebration Days

There are usually no special sales for this period, though it’s always a good idea to go through the recommended discounted shows routes just in case.  However, many top billing solo performers don’t perform on Thanksgiving Day; these are sometimes replaced by guest performers, some of them internationally renowned.
