    Hi Jules!

Quick question… I hope I catch you before we leave for Vegas this Sunday. We are staying at the Bellagio for 6 nights. Do you know of a couple good (reasonably priced) places nearby to grab a small breakfast to get the day started. Going to try Aria’s buffet for dinner one night thanks to your recommendation. Also has the Bellagio buffet improved? You love to hear your thoughts. Thanks! Can’t wait to get out of chilly Seattle for a week.

Hello Mark! πŸ™‚ sorry for the delay, I’m traveling right now so I can’t reply as quickly as I would like. But yes, the Bellagio buffet has improved again. So go before they slip up again! πŸ™‚ I enjoyed pretty much everything I ate and drank there, though it’s not a huge buffet like Studio B of course. They have introduced self-serve drinks though not as extensive as at Mirage (or so it feels) and, for hot drinks, definitely not as extensive as at Treasure Island, but at least it’s there! As per breakfast, if you don’t mind paying for it any restaurant inside the Bellagio hotel & casino will not disappoint you πŸ™‚ But the price is what it is and for me a quick trip to a buffet is more worth-while. If you are after a budget but good experience I would strongly recommend breakfast (go early!) at the Palms resort & casino. It’s not far from Bellagio, you could even walk there or just catch the bus along Flamingo Rd, it takes 2 minutes by bus. πŸ™‚ Hi to Seattle!

Hi Victor πŸ™‚ I have a new video of the Red Rock coming up soon, but in a word the buffet has lost some of its glory though it’s still a great choice for expensive weekends (and beautiful to sit at) and the resort is quite high-end (say mid range to higher range), you won’t be disappointed πŸ˜‰

Hi Eric, sorry for the delay in replying, I am travelling right now… Well, Eric, it really depends on your budget! If budget is no option I like Caesars Palace (always), Mandalay Bay (but not fond of the location), Encore I love but not on noisy summers due to their beach club; I love Vdara suites but not their pool nor their gym (too small to start with); I love Cosmopolitan (some of their rooms are great, especially those on the higher floors, due to their stunning balconies) but not so keen on the feel of it, and hated their buffet (sorry…). I love Mirage’s spa rooms but really, Eric, I need to know your budget and your preferences πŸ˜‰

    Hello Jules,
Love your web page and videos.
Since so many buffets are turning towards a brunch format, using your recommendations, should I use your section about the top breakfast buffets or use your suggestions about lunch?
I really enjoyed going to Studio B.
Still stay at the Luxor because I like its theme. But have given up on their buffet because there is no love in it.
    Thanks,

Hello Steven! thank you and … Good question! First, sorry for the delay in replying. I’m traveling now and with a very intensive schedule, so Internet time is a privilege I can barely afford right now. Hopefully from the end of next week I’ll have more time πŸ˜‰ Well, I would read both. Some of these buffets, not all, still offer a difference in dishes between the earlier part of brunch and the later part of brunch, just a few differences such as smoothies (rare enough, granted, but you can find them at Studio B, for example, or the rare, real fruit juices – such as at Palms). I’ll take a look at the pages in the next week or so and see if I can explain things more clearly πŸ™‚

It’s very valuable. You sound like you prepared the most exciting yet very busy schedule… ! I usually tend to do a couple of things a day, sometimes just one, spreading the enjoyment so to speak, but I understand that if one has only a few days, you’ve got to pack it all in! Tell me how it went and don’t hesitate to post again. Sorry, again, for not seeing your post earlier. Jules

Dear Janet! πŸ™‚ busy plan! The difference between the Gold Coast rooms are practically only the bathroom; it’s whether you want a bath tub or are happy with a shower, really; I personally always like a bath tub but it’s becoming a bit of a luxury in some budget resorts. However, the floor level is important (the higher the better), as you could be staring at a wall if you are on the lower floors facing the courtyard. Flamingo rooms are ok, but if you like to sleep make sure you ask for a room not too close to the noisy bar they have at the bottom. I personally liked the Fab room and the Premium room, I enjoyed the linoleum/laminate floor (felt cleaner); as for the others, if they are only 350 square feet each, the difference will be cosmetic so it’s about reading each feature and deciding what may work better for YOU. I would not stay at Gold Coast the same day you want to go to the Studio B buffet. Ideally you should stay at Tropicana or Excalibur that day, as the shuttle leaves from Tropicana. But, if Flamingo is the only option, I’d stay there and walk down to Tropicana (or catch the bus). The shuttle from Gold Coast stops at the bottom of the Linq High Roller which is a bit of a walk and I would avoid it if you have problems walking or if you are in a hurry. Why add more miles? πŸ˜‰

    Hey Jules,
Its been a while since I last wrote to you. Hope all is well. Just wanted to share a recent experience.
I was just in Las Vegas for Presidents Day Weekend. I checked into the Cosmopolitan (I did see your video on the buffet) I was originally booked for a Terrace Studio in the Chelsea Tower, however upon check in I did the cash in-between my id and charge card trick. I told the front desk clerk that our trip into vegas was a long journey and if there was anything she could do to make our stay more comfortable, it would be appreciated. She picked up the phone and asked for approval to upgrade me to a one bedroom strip view in the Boulevard Tower, request was approved at no extra charge, she said it was a renovated room. I was quite pleased, but surprised as i didn’t know any renovations were in process. The room itself was beautiful, and was exactly how i remember the Cosmo, However, we learned that as part of the recent renovations, the Kitchenette had been removed. No more Microwave, dishwasher, or bar sink. Of course the mini bar was still there. On a positive note, our room did have a separate mini refrigerator. I was quite disappointed when i found this. I loved to use the microwave to warm my pizza, snacks, etc. and I would use the bar sink too. Also, this room had no desk or ergonomic chair. The rooms i have stayed in before in the Chelsea tower had all of these features. This did not sit well with me at all. These were room features that made the Cosmopolitan unique and comfortable. And they call this renovations? More like a demotion, Never thought i would say this, but this is the beginning stages of Cosmopolitan cutting corners and I don’t like it at all. As for the rooms in the Chelsea tower, I have no idea if those have been changed yet. Im going back at the end of March. I will be sure to ask them for an original room, and tell them I don’t want a renovated room.

    Hi Jules!

Found your videos and web sight and really enjoy and appreciate all your fantastic information. I love your charming accent and laugh in the videos! I am staying at Bellagio at the end of March for 6 nights in the Spa Tower in a Strip View Suite. Really excited. Will it be warm enough for the pool area at the end of March? Also what is your recommendation for a Buffet somewhat near Bellagio for Brunch and Dinner that you would recommend? This buffet at Palms looks really nice. Thank you for any info.

Hello Mark and than you πŸ™‚ ! You will love your stay at Bellagio! They will have a pool section open no matter the weather and it’ll be heated (the water). So, no problems there. If the weather is good enough they will open all sections but I doubt it. I’d go to Mirage or Aria in terms of buffets, you won’t go wrong there and the price will be less than at Bacchanal. Bellagio is more ‘traditional’ with a couple of exceptions but for me, not enough variety. However, my latest experience was good, I will try and post my updated review of the Bellagio buffet (and video) very soon. Don’t hesitate to ‘nudge’ me! πŸ™‚

Thanks for the reply Jules! I would love to see your updated Bellagio Buffett video. I am leaning towards the Aria for a good Buffett choice now. Will have to rewatch that video. Can’t wait to escape rainy Seattle and warm up in some Vegas sunshine β˜€οΈ! I saw you were from Vancouver. It is such a beautiful friendly city. Love visiting B.C. This is a great part of the world but I agree it is completely different than Vegas and Vegas provides such a magical escape from reality sometimes. I love the themed resort/casinos like you. So fun. Thanks again for all your amazing information! Keep up the great work. It is appreciated! Cheers!

Hello Mark! πŸ™‚ Thank you and I totally agree with you. You said it so beautifully and I agree with every word you wrote (Vegas/Vancouver/themed resort & escapism from ‘reality’). Though, I tell you, in a way reality it’s where we are in that very moment so enjoy every moment while you’re in Vegas πŸ™‚
I made a note to post the Bellagio video (the new one) asap, hopefully this weekend or by Monday. Do not hesitate to nudge me if you don’t see it. I am traveling now so with limited Internet time but I will check comments, promise πŸ™‚

    Hi Jules,

I have another question that I can’t seem to find the answer to and I’m hoping you can help. Ok my husband and I are looking to book 2 rooms in June for our family and we are thinking of mirage. Now we would both purchase a 1 night reward from myvegas and I know they have to be separate reservations and not back to back but my question is can the rest of our nights be used with a promo code, like the offer they have now for the nightly buffets? Thanks so much for all your info and helpful videos!

Hi Jules, I absolutely love your reviews! But it would be very helpful if you would give a rough data in the headline about the time you made the review. Especially in Las Vegas everything changes constantly, and it would be nice to know if the buffet review is an ancient one or up to date.
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi Jules,

I just received some comped rooms at Bellagio with a $50 resort credit. Can this be used for the resort fee? Also, I will be at a conference at Paris a different trip. What do you think of this hotel? Thanks!!!

Hello Wyatt πŸ™‚ No, the resort credit cannot be used for the resort fee, at least I never could. To be double-sure you could phone front desk, of course. Paris is fine. I enjoyed the Red Room (though I wasn’t too impressed with its cooling system during a hot summer day) and I like the atmosphere of this beautiful and fun resort overall. I wasn’t keen on the gym (old equipment though spacious). The pool can be seen as great fun unless you love trees and a tropical feel.
