    Hey Jules!

Was wondering if you can do an update video of Cravings since they stopped serving free alcohol. Interested to see if the food quality has gone up as a result. The Mirage is my favorite resort on the strip and I found your videos by searching Mirage Las Vegas on YouTube. I hope MGM takes good care of the property and keeps the legacy of excellence going. While there are bigger, newer resorts, I still feel that Mirage is the best in Vegas all things considered (cost, location, restaurants, shows, gambling). Looking forward to hearing from you!

Love your videos! Any suggestions on where I should spend my $100 celebration dinner this upcoming week with Caesar’s group? Spending 1 night at mirage and have a few free buffets there then 2 nights at Caesar’s Palace. First time staying or eating at either. Was thinking about bacchanal buffet then asking if they’ll let me use the leftover to make it a 24hr pass, CET said it’ll be up to the Buffett manager that day. Any thoughts or other restaurants I should check out instead. Going solo so all $100 for me 🙂

      Hello Jake! 🙂
You will love it. Yes it is up to the manager’s discretion and it also depends on your VIP status, player status. Even if you have the 24 hour pass Bacchanal will cost you extra but, if you are lucky enough to sit in a nice area, it is a very enjoyable experience. No many healthy options (if any) but it’s a very nice, happy buffet, so a visit at Bacchanal, if you you are not on a budget or if you can get a discount in some way it’s worth it.
I don’t review restaurants because there are sooo many. I only reviewed a small number, the very top ones, the once-in-a-lifetime ones a while ago, but they do pop up all the time (and they change all the time) and I would need to literally live in Las Vegas and not sleep to review even the main ones 🙂 I have seen more people going solo at buffets in 2019, it was a real pleasure (it’s easier to chat with people if they are ‘solo’), although the traditional heavy gambler eating solo (comped) of the ‘good old days’ is not that common anymore. I used to love watching them come in and eat for free for a few minutes and then go back gambling 🙂

Thanks for the reply! Haha ya I love watching that in the movies too… the high rollers and their comps.

I earned gold status at MGM earlier this year and got status matched to diamond with Caesar’s so this will be my celebration trip of free things🎉.
I’m excited for mirage too, they’re putting me in the stay-well room you reviewed before on YouTube, for one night and have 3 buffets there with myVEGAS.
For my 2 night Caesar’s palace diamond stay I’m still trying to decide where to use the $100 they give you for dining credit after diamond status… I can burn it at Bacchanal but not sure if I should save it for a traditional restaurant within the Caesar’s Entertainment group.

It’s a good question Jake. I mean, how much can you eat? You may prefer a smaller meal at a high-end restaurant within Caesar’s Ent. group. But make sure it’s a good one, and do your math because some of those restaurants are very very expensive if you add everything up 🙂 Jules

So I’m back from my Vegas trip to mirage and Caesar’s and I have to say I’m VERY disappointed with the buffets 🙁 went to the mirage buffet 3 times (dinner, breakfast, and a lunch) and my diamond dinner at Bacchanal buffet.
Mirage food was ok, but the selection was not great and the servers were nowhere to be found. The prime rib was moist and very good. They no longer have the included drinks which I suppose is a myVegas casualty.
This was my first time to Bacchanal and man the hype was WAY too high. Had it not been free and diamond priority line I would not have gone. This was a weeknight at 5:30 PM and the lines were crazy. The wait staff was WAY worse compared to mirage which was horrible. Had 4 plates on my table and no water for 3 plates, poured my own $50 bottle of wine, which is fine but know the reputation of this buffet. All of the meats were SUPER dry and the lack of water made things worse. Lines within the buffet were a bit ridiculous even to basic food not even talking about the made to order stations. The layout was not for me having salads on one side and dressings on the other side for example. The restaurant wasn’t full and again this was a weeknight so I can’t imagine the craziness on the weekends. Some of the empty tables had food sitting out still waiting to be taken away. Dessert was alright but again dry, the lava cake was essentially a well done brownie.

Hello Jake! 🙂 thank you so much for sharing this. I agree with everything you write. Yes, Bacchanal is mostly ‘hype’ although ‘on a good day’ it’s a very good buffet (but the big question is ‘is it worth the price’?) The ‘thing’ about Bacchanal is that it offers a couple of items which cannot be found in any other buffet (such as raw oysters, which I would not eat anyway). As per Mirage, now that they have done away with ‘free drinks’ one would expect them to improve again, but I doubt it. myVegas has indeed been the ‘excuse’ for lowering the standards of all MGM Entertainment buffets, sadly, with a mild exception of Aria and MGM Grand (but only on a ‘good’ day with MGM). Again, thanks for sharing! 🙂 jules

Jules, thanks for all your vids and info. I am planning a move to Vegas in late September (2019) and was going to stay at the Orleans or another place in that general area while I look for an apartment for October. I was wondering if you could tell me what’s the best way to book a good room. I see you can book online but I was wondering if I called to
book then maybe I can request a high floor room with a view I would like. Is it best to call a hotel if I want to ask for a high floor with a view I like? Because I didn’t see this option last time I checked booking online. Any other advice you might have for me would be most welcome. Thanks! 😎

Hello Thomas! The best way to get a good room is either to pay for an upgrade when they email you with that offer or ask for one (free if you can) upon check in. If it’s not high traffic time you’ll get one. 🙂 Sorry for the huge delay.

Yes, I watched it, oh yeah, beautiful food. Buffets are getting more and more popular and if you are lucky to eat in a country where food is good and well prepared (in a luxurious hotel, mind you, otherwise you may not), then it’s really fun. I had a similar experience in a high-end hotel in Portugal. Good quality food. Of course you cannot compare it with something like Aria and Bacchanal or Studio B… The top vegas buffets are still propably the most impressive. Do you agree? 🙂 jules

Yes. I did some, such as the BConnected (because they are so cheap!) ones and of course Studio B because it’s so good. I will do a few more next time, I hope 🙂 But ultimately I have to review what’s likely to be most popular, though I agree change it up a bit will be good 🙂 Sorry for the huge delay…

Hello Andrew, sorry for the huge delay. I would love to meet my viewers. It would be fun to chat over a cup of coffee or, my ideal drink to stay ‘awake’, a cup of ‘matcha’ LOL … Or even a drink in the evening (after videoing). I cannot chat during my video reviews, please bear in mind. We can chat in the evening after the video-ing. I will be in Vegas again shortly, and then again in February. Videos get uploaded later on but I have a new group which I am uploading from tonight in the next few days.

    Hi Jules!

Which buffets would you consider to have the largest selections of healthy foods? I’m trying to eat healthier but also want to have that Vegas buffet experience.

    Thanks!

Hello Amanda and sorry for the huge delay. Aria has healthy options, so does Wynn and so does (but less so on some days) Mirage. Mirage had better options in the past but they are getting worse every time (health-wise). Studio B always has some good options and even the super budget A.Y.C.E at Palms has great healthy options. Always ask which oil they use if you are eating deep fried. Once I ate deep-fried at Planet Hollywood and it did not feel healthy; later on I saw a huge container reading ‘soybean oil’ being handled behind the stations, which is the type of oil, together with Canola (for example), which needs to be ORGANIC (and of course it was not in this case). Olive oil is always a good choice.

Do you play Wynn Slots? It looks like MyVegas except for Wynn instead of MGM. But I figure there must be a catch I’m missing. I’ve only played it for a couple days and I’m nearing half way to a free room night at the Wynn. It just seems too good to be true. Is it legit?

Hi, sorry for the huge delay. The best way to make sure it’s truly connected with Wynn resort is to phone Wynn casino marketing or Wynn reservation and ask them directly. Even if it were connected, sometimes these ‘rewards’ expire and it’s always good to double check, especially if it’s a novelty and not something as established as myVegas.

Hello Harvey! Sorry for the huge delay. Yes, those are the terms. Sometimes when I eat and run around from buffet to buffet my mind goes to sleep. I notice that overeating blurs my mind’s clarity 🙂 There is a small donate button at the bottom of this page: https://top-buffet.com/vegas-real-videos/ – I susppose I should make it more visible. I also need to change the wording once you click on it. But thanks for asking and thanks for your comment.

Hi Jules I hope you are doing well. I really miss your reviews and I’m looking forward to new videos. I was in Las Vegas at the end of April but couldn’t try any buffets. I stayed at the planet Hollywood and noticed their buffet was now offering a to go option for $19.99. The last time I was at their buffet it was a disaster. I think it was being remodeled because most of the buffet was closed off. I being curious though if it has gotten any better?. On your last message you had told me you have visited it on your last trip and wasn’t as bad as I had experienced, So hopefully you will upload a video reviwing it soon. I really enjoy watching your videos and appreciate everything you do. Thank you.
