    Hi Jules!

So we are planning a trip to Vegas in October and will be doing the Caesars buffet pass. Our problem is that we’re gonna have to cut 1 of the buffets off. Which buffet do you recommend removing? We are definitely going to the Rio and Bacchanal buffets.

    Thanks!

Dear Omar, you have tons of time to decide! Wait ’til I post the new Rio buffet video review and of course ’til I update the related page on this website. There have been changes at Rio. In fact, in a few weeks’ time I will have updated the whole site and posted all the relevant videos for your decision so… watch this space 🙂 As a quickie reply, I’d say Rio late dinner (but watch the video, it’s not as good as it used to be), next day Bacchanal breakfast (with the additional charge) staying for lunch and then the Paris buffet for early dinner. Harrah’s and PH are forgettable. PH has become too small and neglected to be worthy of consideration.

Thanks for the reply, and I’ll be on the lookout for your updated videos and the updates to the site! The only real reason we’re for sure eating at Rio is because we got a room there for really cheap. We’re mostly looking forward to the ones on the strip lol.

        Again, thanks!!

I was checking out your list of Las Vegas buffets and prices. You may want to update a 2020 version on the prices as they are woefully under what they are charging today. A 2020 alphabetical chart with the name and prices of the buffets would be a big upgrade to the random list that you are showing, thanks.

Hi Ray! Yes I am updating the price list although the pages on the specific buffets, which have prices, are almost all updated. You know, there are ‘standard’ prices and then there are the millions of changes each buffet adopts on any given day, maybe it’s a holiday, or because of a huge convention or because it’s post-major holiday or whatever reason / excuse. On my last trip I found discrepancies almost each time between the price they advertised and the actual price, a few dollars but nevertheless… So as I always write beware of price lists, they are a general ideal but you can’t necessarily rely that they will be super precise. Having said this, it’ll hopefully be updated by Monday next week. Do not hesitate to nudge me if it’s not.

Hi Jules, love your videos! We just came back from a 3 night stay at the Bellagio and I wanted to tell you that you are spot on with their buffet as it has really gone downhill since we had it last a few years ago. Now the buffets were free with our hotel stay and there’s just no way we would ever pay that price for the quality we received and we aren’t “fussy” at all like you always say you are haha!

We did have a myvegas reward for the aria buffet and that was above and beyond better then Bellagio in our opinion as well. Anyways just wanted to tell you keep doing what you’re doing and we will keep watching👍🏻

    Hi Jules,

Huge fan and I’ve been following you for a number of years now all the way from the UK. I’m a well seasoned traveller to Vegas and we’ve been following your recommendations. I have new one for you that i’m struggling with. So we’ll be returning back to Vegas this July (my birthday is on Independence day). We will have around 14-19 of us and we are looking for a buffet that has a semi/private dining area with alcohol. I can only see that the Wynn has one. Do you know any more places. looking around 7:30pm.

Can you book in advance if it is a large party? Normally we just line up and wait. I wanted to treat all those that are coming etc. All options considered.

    Thank you in advance

Hi Shaun! Nice to hear from you! If you can go away from the Strip, I’d say Studio B. Check out if the location works for you, if it does give them a call and explain what you want. Their private area is nice, with many windows. If you can’t deal with the location, then ask me again 🙂 Have a great weekend! jules

Thank you for your lovley posts. Look at them as soon as you get them up on youtube.
I was wondering as of now, January 2020, which of all buffets that is “all you can eat and drink” with drink like wine/beer incluced, do you consider the most price worthy of all the buffets in vegas?

HI Jimie and thank you 🙂 Right now the majority of buffets seem to want to make you pay extra for unlimited alcohol. The only exceptions were Planet Hollywood (but the buffet has decreased in quality) and of course Weekend visits, where many will have sparkling wine and mimosa included (but not beer/wine). Ironically I really enjoyed the unlimited mimosa and sparkling wine at Planet Hollywood and Treasure Island, but as I said PH is smaller now and TI is FABULOUS during weekend brunch (unless you want crab legs), but just average on a regular day (though it still offers unique dishes which I really enjoyed). I noticed this year that fewer buffets have unlimited alcohol with the basic price (I found none with regards to beer/wine) but I also found that for a very small additional price you CAN have it. Aria is still the best if you want to stay on the Strip. Studio B is and will always be the king, I think, outside of the Strip. Bacchanal is fabulous for seafood and meat lovers, but nothing to shout about with regards to the rest. Wynn has decreased in quality and variety especially for Brunch (yuk, if you think of the price), Paris has definitely improved so worth a visit, the others are pretty much the same as last year except for Mirage which is getting more and more boring (and more limited) every time I go. Hope it helps, otherwise keep asking 🙂

thank you for your fantastic website!
Since you mentioned the seafood in the reply to Jimie from Sweden I would like to ask you which buffet is THE BEST for seafood in LV at the moment. I am only interested in seafood, of any type, but just seafood (no dessert, no cheese, no drinks, etc.). I am visiting from Italy, so my expectations are high 🙂
        Thank you.

Hi Jules. Great videos you have. I always binge them before going to Las Vegas. They get me excited and of course give me some useful information. We are going during Easter week this year. We want to go to a nice buffet brunch on Easter Sunday. Do any take reservations or should we just be prepared to wait in long lines? Thank you and hope you are having a great start to 2020.

Hello Jessica! 🙂 Great to read you ‘binge’ on the videos. LOL All buffets will make an effort during the Easter period (just as they do for Christmas for example). So you will have line ups but the food will be generally better as well (mind the prices!). If you have a ‘good’ players card status (‘Pearl’ and above for the MGM group for example) you will be able to skip much of the line up. If you are a large group you will be able to book in advance (with Studio B for example). Otherwise you may not be able to skip the holiday line up, especially for the best buffets. Take a look at the newly updated ‘best Vegas buffets‘ page before you go. 😉

Hi, Jules! I really appreciate seeing your reviews o YouTube, including the updates you do a few months later.

I wanted to mention to you something that is not mentioned in your webpage section on MyVegas. In comparing mobile apps (MyVegas, Pop!, Konami) to the Facebook version, one thing that was not mentioned is that there are different rewards available on Facebook that are not on the mobile versions. People who are looking to score the best rewards should look at BOTH to make sure they are finding ones that will suit their trip best.

Thanks again for all of the great insight.

Hello, huge fan of the channel and crazy about Las Vegas.
My first time in Las Vegas we stayed in a gorgeous room at the Flamingo with tv in the washroom lol the buffet was disappointed but the hotel smell was so good! the price was welcoming too.
August 2019 I went again with a friend and we stayed at The Mirage, strip view room in a higher floor, the buffet was good but what caught ny attention was the server told us not to leave our bags on the table while we’re getting food. The pool was fantastic, pretty sure is one of the best ones in the strip.
About the buffets, we always go for brunch, no lunch nor dinner. Good experiences at Bacchanal, Wicked Spoon and The Buffet at Wynn, we ate there twice.

We are planning another trip to Vegas in August 2020 and I have a few questions.
Choosing the hotel; I love The Mandalay Bay atmosphere, so fresh, open, but the problem is the location, I thought about that particular one because the price/what you get is good and we’ve been to the city so Mandalay Bay was more like a staying in Vegas vacation.

The other option is Luxor (tower suites) for the price and Aria for what you get and the location.
Bellagio was almost 3000cad for 4 nights, no not today!
looking forward for your comments Jules 😀
    all the best

Hi Luan 🙂 First of all thank you for sharing your experience! 🙂 I agree with you about Mandalay Bay, though I am currently staying at Delano (part of the Mandalay Bay complex so to speak) and frankly it’s better than Mandalay bay in terms or room/suite; however, the location is bad and getting even to the Strip is a huge endeavour! This is why Mirage is my favorite on the Strip (so easy to get in and out). If you stay at Mandalay Bay or Delano you will have to accept that time will be spent either on the bus (the stop is right in front but you have to get to the road!) or on the free shuttle to Excalibur and then walking forever to get where you want… Of course if you use a taxi or similar then it’s irrelevant (almost). Luxor’s location is as bad as Mandalay Bay/Delano (almost), in my opinion. The only ‘good’ thing is that if you intend to go further South (for example Fry’s or the stunning M Resort for the Studio B buffet or some shopping centres further South) then Mandalay Bay is of course better positioned. On the plus side, the express bus stops at Mandalay Bay and the slow Deuce bus is practically empty when you get on it going Northbound. But, frankly, I simply do not like the outside of Mandalay Bay. BUT: they are building a huge stadium for sports events next door so that may render the whole area less barren. Happy New Year 🙂

Hi … I have been toying with the idea for some time now (that of going back)…. It’s not the kind of location which thrills me but I know I must return. So probably this upcoming trip. I am preparing the schedule right now. What’s your experience? I have a not-so-great memory of an incident in a room in which I was staying and frankly I would not want to repeat it… But then it would make for a good video I suppose LOL

I haven’t stayed there but I do have a reservation booked for the Boulevard suite for January 17th. There hasn’t been many videos on youtube about the Stratosphere and the reviews I seen are mainly about the noise from construction. I was supposed to see a concert but it got cancelled but thought I’d keep my reservation since they had a cyber Monday deal and im only paying like $260 for two nights and get free breakfast buffet and free entry to the observation deck thing.

Just a question: I read where a few casinos are charging a “drink fee” for every drink/beer served, can a list be provided as to which casinos are doing this and how much they are?

Hi Bill, all drinks are FREE when you gamble in any Vegas casino. Of course they are served in tiny glasses and with plenty of ice (make sure you ask for no ice) and you are expected to leave a tip, so the best thing to do is to order 4 drinks (I saw this often!) and leave one overall tip! 🙂 It’s the only thing to do if you actually want a decent amount of drinks. Be prepared to wait for a long time as they want to make sure you actually are gambling.

    Hi Jules,

I’m 60 next March and I have a few people from Vancouver and a few from the UK meeting me in Vegas…approx 10 in total. I want to buy everyone a dinner on the Saturday (7th March) and I was thinking about the Aria buffet…one) because they are the only ones to have an Indian section for the brits and two) because you have mentioned in the past that its a fairly extensive buffet and of good quality. What do you think? I think you were saying about $60pp for dinner on Saturday. Also, is that the best location for a party and also will I be able to get a table for 10 at 8pm…will the Aria not want that? Thx for your feedback.

Hello Christopher! Happy 60 in advance ! 🙂 From now to March things may change again with buffets (including prices!), so keep an eye out on what’s going on in January (after the big holidays are over). Aria is a good bet although I don’t know if they will be able to reserve a table for 10, though you will definitely be able to get a table for 10 (after a line up). Beware that tipping is compulsory for a party of 8 or more, at least for now… If you’re VIP the line up will be small. It may be worth considering Studio B because they have private sections you can book in advance (for special celebrations, for example), but before you do check my new Studio B review (and Aria) in January or February. Of course Studio B has the issue of transportation but if you are a group you can get a cab for 5 people each and share the cost. I love Indian and Thai food too and I found good options at Studio B as well, but it changes so don’t bet on it. I think Aria is a ‘safe bet’ because it never really disappoints and the variety is there.
Regardless, ask me again in February or late January! 🙂 Jules

    Hey Jules!

With all the upheavals regarding MGM/Mirage selling off properties, do you think the buffet quality will diminish or, do you think the new focus on entertainment over owning the properties will renew focus on the food quality? Additionally, have you ever seen …? That guy will go to a great buffet like Bellagio and only get pizza, fried chicken, spaghetti and meatballs and Chinese food. Lol Love your content

      Hi Brian
Buffet quality has been diminishing over the years with MGM properties now, with the mild exception of Aria. The best way to ‘test’ the new trends is to go in January. This is why I try not to miss going in January or February (as well as on other times) especially staying away from main holidays as they are very deceptive with regards to buffet quality. With regards to the sale of some MGM Strip properties (see post on https://top-buffet.com/mgm-sale-bellagio-circus-circus/ ) well both buffets could use a revamp. They stopped caring about Bellagio a long time ago, because they now seem to focus on entertainment (for only certain age groups), so any change can only be good, though my concern is how it will affect myVegas rewards (my advice: cash in!) I am hoping for the same chain which bought the M Resort, for example, but definitely not the chain which bought Cosmo (too greedy and awful buffet with limited hours). I am sure there will be surprises. With regards to that guy eating junk food (btw Chinese food or even spaghetti or pizza can be delicious, I am talking generally here) well… there is a market for everything 😉
