I don’t like the shared sliding door between the closet and the bathroom. Minor complaint. I also think there should be more flat surfaces to store things.

Hey Jules. Just wanted to let you know that I was at the Palms this past weekend for a show and the ENTIRE Palms buffet is shut down and blocked off with walls. I guess they are completely remodeling, renaming and rebranding it. Don’t know how long it’ll be closed.

Hello Souzanna ๐Ÿ™‚ well the Aria buffet has plenty of variety so you will find plenty of options. The buffet at Wynn has some vegan options too, such as a delicious quinoa salad. Be prepared though to see mountains of meat and fish wherever you go. I can’t tell you about restaurants because there are so many and I don’t have enough time to review them all. But please let me know how it went!

    Hey Jules,
Hope you don’t mind me asking, but are you a Diamond Member with Caesars Entertainment? Have a couple friends that say the perks are really good. I personally wouldn’t know since I’m no where near that tier level and its rare that i even step foot into a Caesars Entertainment property (I guess they have never impressed me that much) lol. My friend who is a Diamond member said that most Caesars Entertainment resorts have a Diamond and Seven Stars member only lounge where they serve comp food/snacks and drinks. I never knew such a lounge existed. Know anything about that? Thanks

Hello Reo ๐Ÿ™‚ No, I am not a Diamond member with Caesars Entertainment. I only receive comp offers when they send them out to thousands of regular players. I don’t have any VIP status with Caesars Entertainment but I found them to be generous on special dates during the year. Having said this, you have to pay for the resort fee, which can be high, and apart from Caesars Palace the other resorts have mediocre amenities at best…

Jules you can get CET Diamond through the Founder’s Card for only $250 per year. It also comes with HHonor’s Gold, Sixt Platinum, etc. With this you pay no resort fees and get the Diamond Lounges, free parking, and VIP chick-in & Lounges. George

Also Jules, you get a $100 annual CET Dinner as well, in addition to 2 comp show tickets monthly in LV, and Ski tickets at lake Tahoe. I used comp credit in London through Caesar’s ownership on London Clubs. The big one for you, is free drinks/meals in Diamond Lounges, and NO Resort Fees, and VIP lines for Buffets & Check-in. I believe there are Vegas Status matches for Diamond, including with Lucky Dragon.

    Hey Jules,
Isnt it something how pretty much ALLVegas hotels do not provide in room coffee or even a coffee pot? I’ve yet to see one. You would think with the resort fee that they would include at least a coffee pot in the room so you could make your own coffee. This next trip im going to think ahead of the game, going to bring some instant coffee with the small flavored creamer packets. That should get me by for the mornings, and probably save me 8 bucks each morning. The coffee shops at Cosmo, were pretty expensive last time I was there.

Well said Reo ๐Ÿ˜‰ there are things one must come prepared for, especially if coming by car: a portable kettle, coffee, creamer, milk, water (unless you want to buy it at CVS or Walgreens on the Strip). It’s a shame but they do not provide anything in the rooms (Strip or downtown resorts) so that we are forced to buy. I agree, with the steep resort fee some basic items should be provided, such as a simple metal kettle.

Hello Linda ๐Ÿ™‚ There seems to be still a lot of construction, I’m afraid; in June the pool was closed and guests had to use MGM’s and Mandalay Bay’s, which are great but it’s a huge walk (Vegas distances, remember?) and shuttles to and from are bound to be packed for this reason; moreover, it often results in the other resorts’ pools being even more packed. I’m not sure what things will be like in July, though. Generally speaking, I would stay away from any hotel undergoing major renovations, though price reductions and free upgrades may tempt those who get up at 7am and don’t care about amenities. When major renovations are under way, you don’t know if the amenities are open, how many, to what extent, and the room next door could be the one being remodeled. Drilling can the what wakes you up in the morning, if you are really unlucky. You may be upgraded to a suite but the noise may not go… HOWEVER, to be safe and to have a good bargaining tool if there are problems during your stay, I’d write to them (email) and ask specifically which areas/sections/amenities/floors will still be affected by the major renovation during your stay. Then, to speed things up, I’d also phone them asking the same questions.

Hi ๐Ÿ™‚ I would go for the freshly remodeled rooms in the Royal Tower, if the upgrade is not expensive. Beware, though, that if proximity to the pool and the gym is essential for you, you may need to go to the “resort tower”.

    Hey Jules,
I stayed at Hard Rock a couple years back, in the Casino tower and I really enjoyed it. (ps i do like your Hard Rock video tour). Do you know anything about the Paradise tower? I looked at the property map and it looks like it might be a long walk from the casino. When i stayed in the Casino tower, i never walked that way. Does the Paradise tower actually have its own entrance? If so, I’m thinking it might be a bit more quiet/relaxing. I just received a pretty good offer from Hard Rock and are considering making a reservation. Thanks.

Hi Reo ๐Ÿ™‚ yes Paradise tower is further away from the main casino area, but it has its own entrance if you come from the parking garage area.
I liked it too, it was a while ago mind you. It was quieter but when I was there there were some ‘trendy’, classy yet partying people who were clearly drunk and were a little louder than I would have liked (not crazy loud, but they did not realize they were talking louder than they probably would have talked normally), as they were walking to and from the elevator. This you cannot avoid almost anywhere, though the more expensive the hotel is the better-behaved people should be, at least that’s the THEORY. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Though I found that the resorts who tend to attract partying people are the loudest in general, as well as the resorts who tend to attract families with children. If they sent you a good deal and if go to Vegas with a car (or intend to rent one) then it’s a good option and you will enjoy it. I still remember that couple who just sat at a slot machine and won the jackpot! It should have been my friend who was just seconds late at sitting at that slot machine! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hey Jules,
Need your honest opinion on the Stratosphere, lol.
I walked there a couple years back when I stayed at SLS. I gambled a few bucks at Stratosphere, and was there a short time. It was early in the day and it seemed, ok, nothing amazing or 5 star, but i more less didn’t expect much going there in the first place. Anyhow, they frequently send me special offers, usually a few bucks in free slot play and hotel room offers of 1st night at $20.00 and 2nd night free. When i go to Vegas, i visit and hang out with my 2 good friends who have lived in Vegas 10+ years and they won’t even step anywhere near the Stratosphere, lol. What do you think? Would you stay there? All i ever hear from people is that its in a very bad area and not safe to be roaming around, hmm. What do you think?

Hello Reo! ๐Ÿ™‚ I stayed at the Stratosphere several times and I had no problem whatsoever in any way. It’s not upscale, but the rooms are fine, at least the ones I was assigned were fine. The buffet is as good as Luxor’s (if you read my review you know what I mean LOL) but of course you don’t have to eat there. I have no problem with this resort, really. It’s not fun for me to stay there because of its location, but if you don’t mind walking to the nearby bus stop (it’s practically steps from a side entrance) and using the bus (both the express and the Deuce stop there) then you’ll be fine. I’m always running around in a hurry so using the bus is not the best option for me. As per the location, well, yes, it’s not the best but I never felt threatened in any way. There is nothing in the area except for some seedy blocks of apartments, some wedding chapels (which are decreasing in numbers every year) and a super-cheap motel, so there is no reason to wonder off from the resort itself. I don’t like walking at night from the Stratosphere to Encore, for instance, it’s just not trafficked enough to ‘feel’ safe but I am almost sure it’s safe enough, since I never heard of any incident in the area. You may see a drunk or 2 but that’s about it… Anyway, since it’s best to be safe than sorry, if you just stick to where the tourists go (bus stop, taxi areas and the inside of the resort), you will be fine. Basically when I stayed at the Stratosphere I walked out only to step onto the bus, so there was no risk for me. The bus stop at the Stratosphere always has people.

Hello Srulik! ๐Ÿ™‚ You are very welcome! ๐Ÿ™‚ I have just posted a new video of Excalibur, hopefully you will find it useful or at least funny! Despite all the sagas, I actually always find Excalibur good value for money all around. I have never seen the knight show (I’m embarrassed to admit) but many people I know have seen it and have said that, if you find a good deal (or if it’s free), it’s worth going to see. It’s a family show mostly, I’d say. The Northern Outlet is supposed to be slightly higher end than the Southern Outlet, though the latter MAY have lower prices for some items. Jules

Hello Bob ๐Ÿ™‚ The Seafood section of the Rio buffet may have it on special occasions, for dinner. I would strongly advise that you phone them (just phone the general number and either ask to speak to front desk or to be put through the buffet directly and ask this very specific question telling them of the day of the week when you plan to go – things change a lot with buffets and I would hate it for you to be disappointed). I have seen lobster tails on special seafood nights at the M resort buffet as well, but I would ALWAYS phone them on the day or the day before to make sure the one item is actually going to be served.

Hey Reo ๐Ÿ˜‰ You will NOT sound like a fool just by asking! You have no idea the crazy things I hear people ask at check in! I have asked myself but more on this later. There is definitely truth in the fact that odd numbers will face on direction and even numbers the opposite direction. I remember this being the case at Excalibur as well of course but – because they have 2 towers – I don’t remember exactly in which tower and which section of the tower (each tower has a corner shape) this ‘math’ would apply. There is nothing wrong in asking for an odd or even number with an excuse such as ‘it’s your lucky number’ or similar… ๐Ÿ˜‰ But I don’t remember which is which (odd or even and where exactly?)… I may have written about it in one of my sections on the Excalibur on this website, so you may want to take a quick look. You’re a guest staying in a remodeled room, you won’t be treated like a fool. Smile when you talk to them, they’ll love you ๐Ÿ˜‰
