Monte Carlo Vegas Renovations Update
Monte Carlo Vegas Renovations Update (early 2018). If you plan to stay at Monte Carlo right now (as you may know this resort will soon be Park MGM), you may need to know that major renovations are still taking place and, while room prices may be lower due to this and free upgrades may be offered as well for the same reason, before you book you need to know what really matters to you and if renovations are going to ruin your stay. This is what I mean:
The pool is currently closed; guests can use MGM’s or Mandalay Bay’s, both stunning, but they are going to be packed for this reason (they often are anyway) and it’s going to be very inconvenient to go there and come back. They’re not next door; it’s a long walk to MGM Grand and the shuttle to and from Mandalay Bay seems to be really packed.
There may be drilling in the morning (and day) in some sections and, unless you’re an early riser and you leave the room immediately, it may affect you.
Some of the rooms may not have been remodeled yet and if so they will be far from perfect, since they’re awaiting remodeling. Enough said.
If it’s fully comped and you don’t care about any amenities, and you don’t care about potential morning noises (you may hear outside construction as well), then by all means it could be a great deal, especially if you receive a free upgrade to a suite or for only a few dollars.
The outside (at the end of 2017 – beginning of 2018) still looked like a building site. We have a video showing you this. No waterfalls, no trees, no grand entrance, just a building site.
Conclusion (Monte Carlo Vegas Renovations Update): you you need to know exactly what your needs are and you need to be prepared to phone and email management to ask in advance what exactly will be affected by the renovations; ask specifically about anything you are interested in (pool, gym, buffet, room quiet, exterior renovations, food court, shuttles etc).
