Vdara in Vegas Review

Is Vdara a good resort choice in Las Vegas? Will it suit your needs? Let’s see what makes Vdara unique and what are its pros and cons.

Set in the newest part of the Vegas Strip, the city centre, Vdara is an option you will probably have considered whilst planning your Vegas trip. If you like modern and new, or just want to sample the newer establishments Vegas has to offer, Vdara is undoubtedly a good choice. But I don’t think it’s for everyone, just like staying at Mandalay Bay or New York New York Vegas are not choices suitable to everybody (even though for different reasons).

There are certainly many good reasons why you should stay at Vdara:

it is a good option if you want a very nice, new, modern, spacious room in a modern setting; Vdara caters to those who are not always keen on eating out, for example, or parting ‘out’, since its suites have kitchens (hence the lack of restaurants inside the Vdara resort); you will certainly enjoy the frequent cabana deals Vdara offers (200 dollars during the expensive weekends), although its pool is not (in my opinion) one of the best Vegas pool areas. Moreover, because it does not have a casino, Vdara becomes very suitable for those who don’t wish to gamble all the time or don’t wish to be exposed to the gambling scene 24 hours a day; it may also arguably be suitable to visitors with children, since in Vdara they won’t have to walk through a smoke-filled casino.

The location (right between Aria and Bellagio) is excellent, in that you can walk to a variety of excellent options for fine dining (or even good buffets): these include the nearby Aria, Bellagio, Cosmopolitan and Planet Hollywood. If you begin to feel gamble-feverish, being in the mid-Strip area you will also be able to choose amongst a variety of good casinos. Of course this means that you have to walk outside of the resort, which is not a problem for most but, if you are seeking an all-inclusive establishment, Vdara may not be the best choice for you.

If you are visiting Vegas for the first time, Vdara may not be the best choice, in that it will ‘rob’ you of the mind-blowing experience of being ‘bombarded’ by so many sensorial stimuli Vegas is famous for! Staying at Vdara will feel like being in a beautiful, modern hotel devoid of the Vegas imprint. On the other hand, if you want to step out of the ‘craziness’ for a while, whilst being in one of the best Vegas locations, then Vdara becomes very appealing.
