In-Suite Wedding Reception in Vegas – Advice

On slow traffic nights you can spend as little as 160 dollars a night for a great, huge suite in Vegas, suitable for a wedding reception; of course, if budget is not an issue for you, the sky is the limit and you can have the reception worthy of dreams and movies!

We’ll mention some options on this page but beforehand we want you to realize that many Vegas resort are equipped with suites designed for large parties or wedding receptions; besides your budget (see below), a good idea is to consider:

1 the overall look and feel of the resort you have chosen; if you want to enchant your guests, for example, you need to consider things like the resort entrances and its immediate surroundings. We have a section titled ‘which Vegas hotel?’ (with sub-sections, see 2nd menu on the left or at the bottom, depending on which device you are using) which should give you a good idea of overall quality of the resorts you are considering. We also have videos to help you further (more on those at the bottom of this page). Another consideration may be size (and feel) of the lobby but also of the elevators if you are having large quantity of supplies brought up to the suite.

2 Location; you don’t have to have your in-suite wedding reception on the Strip; these days Vegas offers beautiful, modern and elegant resorts (like the M Resort or Red Rock or Palms), with suites to match, on several areas; some of those resorts, primarily because they are not on the Strip, can offer great deals. In this case you have to consider if everybody has a car or if hiring limos could be a transportation option which adds to the overall experience. Some resorts are actually close enough to the Strip that walking could be an option, if necessary.

A great mid-range choice on the Strip (probably one of the best locations of the Strip, being quite central and facing the stunning and romantic Venetian) is offered by the beautiful, romantic and visually-stimulating Mirage; they have 1105 sqft hospitality suites (maximum capacity of around 30 people, seating 15) from around 300 dollars (depending on the season and on how booked up they are, as per every Vegas resort). They are modern with all the modern accessories you may require for your reception; some of them we found them slightly lacking in natural light (not enough windows), though they had plenty of artificial light. Mirage is always a good choice; it’s a Vegas resort which, over the years, has kept its quality and range of options in all aspects, unlike some others. It’s romantic setting may be something to consider too. We have several videos of the outside and inside of Mirage (links at the bottom of this page).

♥♥ A very chic & modern option of mid-range price (300+), also set in a top Strip location, could be the 1200sqft Cosmopolitan Wrap-Around Terrace Suite; as the name suggests, you will enjoy a balcony offering panoramic views, some overlooking the enchanting Bellagio fountains.

♥♥ In downtown Vegas you will find several affordable options (also ranging in price depending on the season and on how booked they are); one of them could be the D hotel, remodeled in a retro style, offering hospitality ‘D’ suites to match (maximum capacity around 20 people); it’s overall a smaller hotel with a smaller lobby, but it’s worth considering if you want to be on Fremont Street; another option could be the remodeled Plaza hotel (it has several Penthouse Suites on the top floor); the Plaza is also used for conventions and other events so possibly more suitable if space in an issue.

♥♥ If you are looking for a much larger suite (in the 800+ price range), the quality, space and beauty of the MGM Skyline Terrace Suite may just be for you: the inside space is 1300sqft and its outdoor patio is 786sqft, with magnificent views. Maximum capacity: around 30 people.

♥♥ Mandalay Bay Vista and Media Suites (around 1000sqft – $500/800+), the latter being more suitable if noise may be an issue (it’s better sound-proofed); Mandalay Bay is a very elegant resort through and through; its ‘extreme South Strip’ location is why its rates are mid-range and not higher; their ceiling to floor windows enables great views, some of them of the Strip.

Things to remember: with most Vegas resorts you need to bear in mind that some suites will have dedicated elevators operated with key cards; this means that either all guests (and catering staff) have key cards or the are escorted by someone who does. Some of the suites need to be booked by phone; you will probably be asked a few questions and you should ask take this opportunity to gather all the necessary information from them to manage your event smoothly; for example, ask what the procedure is for carrying alcohol and food up to the suite.
